Ampersand assembles and distributes electric motorcycles, or “bodas,” in Rwanda and Kenya. The company also operates a network of charging stations to offer its customers an innovative model called “battery swapping.”
This business model allows motorcycle drivers to buy an electric motorcycle without expensive batteries and enjoy a cleaner vehicle with significantly lower fuel and maintenance costs compared to internal combustion engine (ICE) two-wheelers.
